"I ask that you be around to teach my new bonded what you can do with automobiles," I said to John when we got back to the house. I had the elixir on the table. I'd not yet poured a cup.

"I'll do that," he said. "You just have to find the type of vehicles that I need to teach them on."

"Done," I said. "Do you want the elixir right now?"

"Yes," he said.

"John think of this," Declan said. "You'll be cut off from us. You won't feel us anymore. You'll be an outsider."

"I know," John said. "I want the elixir. I can't stand this anymore."

I poured the cup of elixir and slid it over to where John was sitting at the table. He took it and looked at me. He was crying. I refused to shed a tear over this. He was one of the bonded and hadn't been a very good best friend since he was bonded. Of course the bond had changed that and I had only myself to blame for what had happened between me and John but that was all over as soon as he drank the contents of that cup. He drank it looking at me the whole time.

The effect was instantaneous. He was muted in my head but still there because he was sitting in the same room with me. The others slowly started to walk away from him. They couldn't feel him anymore. He'd lost his closest friends with one drink. I just sat there and looked at him. He was my equal now. There was nothing between us but friendship if he still wanted it. I just looked at him.

"How do you feel now?" I asked.

"Better," he said. He closed his eyes and tilted his head. "Why can I still feel you?"

"You were bonded to me," I said. "When you're in the same house with me you'll feel me in your head."

"I'm your equal now," he said with a smile. "You can love me now."

"John, is that why you did this? Because you want me to love you?" I asked.

"Well yeah," he said. "You told me you wouldn't fall for one of the bonded. I'm in love with you so I drank the elixir so we'd be equal and you could love me."

"Oh, John," I said and shook my head. "I'm not in love with you. You misunderstood. I said I wasn't ever falling in love. If I did it wouldn't be with one of the bonded. I didn't mean that I'd love one of you if you weren't bonded to me."

"No," he said. "You can love me now."

"You should have talked with me about this before you drank the elixir," I said. "I'm not in love with you. I can never fall in love, John. Never."

"Then why did you let me drink this?" he demanded.

"John you said you wanted the elixir," I said. "The only reasoning you gave me was that you could find a make up artist to make you look older and you could visit your parents. You never said anything about love."

"That's why I drank it," he said. "So you could love me."

"No," I said. "That's not going to happen."

"Bond me again," he said.

"I can't," I said. "You've drunk the elixir. You're Immortalis. You can't be bonded again. Do you think I'd have let David go if I could bond him again?"

"Well damn," he said. "I just drank the elixir of life and I still can't have what I want."

"John," I said.

"No," he said. "I have to go home soon. I just want you to know that I made a huge mistake."

"There's nothing that can be done about that mistake now," I said.

He went home but he wasn't happy. I wasn't happy but there was nothing to do about it now. I'd have him over tomorrow to teach him to make bonding potion and give him a cashier's check for five million to bankroll his bonded. He had to make bonded to make his life easier. They worked as a unit to make the moves easier, the new identities, the new papers, security, and so much more. John needed bonded to live happily.

"So John drank the elixir?" Declan asked as he came to sit at the table.

"He did," I said. "Then he said he'd made a huge mistake because he thought that if he was Immortalis I would fall in love with him. I told him he was wrong."

"He's in love with you," Declan said. "We've all told him that it was a bad thing, that you can't fall in love and be effective in your life."

"That's true," I said. "So are you wanting the elixir too?"

"God no," he said. "I just thought you needed someone to talk to."

"Well thank you for that," I said. "Where are Evan and Todd?"

"Off having sex," he said. "Eric is in the back yard."

"Yeah he's working on the grill," I said. "He'll come in and shower sooner or later. He wants to have a cook out."

"We just had a New Year's party," Declan laughed. "He wants a cook out?"

"He loves to grill," I said. "Let him have what he wants. It's warm enough out there for it."

"Well I guess," he said. "Listen none of us want the elixir. Evan and Todd talk about it all of the time but that's just because other bonded of other people are talking about it."

"Well John certainly surprised me," I said. "I will admit that. First by wanting the elixir. He should have talked with me about how I felt and I would have told him that I won't fall in love with anyone not just the bonded."

"What about you and Eric?" Declan asked. It was a valid question.

"We're not in love with each other, Declan," I said. "We're bonded together a bit tighter than the rest of you."

"So he's like an extension of you?" Declan asked.

"Something like that," I said. "It could have worked out completely differently. It could have been a disaster. I'm just glad that it worked out the way that it did. I'm not in love with Eric. I just feel a bit closer to him than I do the rest of you because he's double bonded."

"Okay," he said. "Well none of us have any desire to drink the elixir and John was stupid to do it. Now he's not one of us anymore."

The next day Eric got his cook out. I went to the store and bought steaks and potatoes for him to grill. He did that. We ate inside because as it wasn't cold outside it wasn't pleasant either. He came in with the food, kissed me on the head, and put the platter on the table. We sat and ate our food and no one said a word about the fact that John wasn't with us anymore. I tried not to think about it.

"What are we doing for the next six days?" Todd asked.

"Nothing," I said. "Absolutely nothing."

"Sounds good," said Evan. "I'm tired of constantly being on the go."

"We all are," Declan said.

"Well we'll rest," I said.

And that's what we did. We rested. We sat in the living room once the dishes were taken care of. We watched a movie while they all touched me. I saw what Declan was talking about because Eric was behind me with his legs on either side of me and I was leaned against him with the other two touching me all over the front. He looked at us and I smiled at him. I was trying to let him know that I now saw it too. This was Eric's night and I planned to give him what he wanted but Declan thought something was going on that wasn't and I needed to address this and be done with it.

"What's up, Damon?" Eric asked as I moved a bit.

"We're not in love with each other are we?" I asked him.

"I'm not in love with you if that's what you're asking," he said. "I mean I love you but I'm not in love with you."

"Good," I said. "I'm not in love with you either. I'm not in love with anyone but I love you, I love Todd, and I love Evan, and I love Declan."

"Where's John?" he asked. "His parents keeping him home?"

"He drank the elixir and is no longer one of us," I said.

"Damn," Eric said. "I really liked John. Too bad he couldn't stay with us."

"He made the mistake of thinking that if he wasn't bonded to me I'd fall in love with him," I said. "When I told him that wasn't the case and that I didn't want to fall in love with anyone he said he'd made a huge mistake. He'd only told me that he wanted to be able to visit his parents and could find a make up artist to make him look older so he could see them. He never mentioned that he was in love with me."

"Damn," Eric said again.

"You guys have got to talk to me about stuff like this," I said. "I can't have you doing something stupid because you think one thing will only happen if you weren't bonded to me. Let me assure you all that I'm not in love with anyone and I don't want to be in love with anyone."

"Well let me assure you that I'm not in love with you either," said Evan. "And I don't want the elixir."

"I'm not in love with you," Todd said with a grin. "I don't want the elixir either."

"You know I'm not in love with you," Declan said. "I never want the elixir but I'm not in love with you."

"I'm not in love with you either," Eric said.

"Good," I said. "Maybe we need to have this conversation a few times a month to make sure that no one is as stupid as John was."

"You don't have to worry about us," Evan said. "We aren't that stupid."

"Good," I said again. "Please don't be stupid. If you think something is true talk to me or someone about it. Don't go off half cocked and do the unthinkable."

"We won't," Declan said. "We know better. You will never fall in love with any of us. We're not falling in love with you. The sex is nice but love isn't part of what we're doing."

"No it's not," Todd said. "We have sex with each other and we're not in love with each other."

"Well good," I said. "As long as none of us are in love with each other we'll be fine."

We said no more after that. They seemed to have gotten their point across and I know I had. If I was going to be in love with any of them it would have been Eric. That's all there was to it. We were closer to in love than I was with any of them because of his unique bonding. I didn't think I'd fall in love with him but at times it seemed that I was. But appearances could be deceiving. This time they were.

"It's my night," Eric said as he held me.

"I know," I said. "When the movie is over we'll get your night going."

"Sounds good," he said.

If there was Jordan would have told me when he saw how hurt I was that I had given the elixir to David. No there was no way back and I wouldn't take him back if there was. He decided to drink the elixir. David had been different. It was necessary because we thought he was going to prison for murder.

"Will do," he said as I got up and went back upstairs to change into jeans, socks, a thicker shirt and shoes.

I came back down the stairs and out the front door. I got in the SUV and started it. Then I turned on the heat. It was a little nippy outside this morning. I drove to Jordan's house and knocked on the door. One of Jason's bonded let me in. I asked about Jason and Arena and I was told they were in the kitchen. So I went to the kitchen. I found them in the kitchen with Roland. He smiled when he saw me.

"So how was your night?" Rolland asked.

"Aggravating," I said. "John drank the elixir."

"What?" Jason asked, turning to look at me. "What happened?"

"He was stupid," I said. "He went on and on about not wanting to be dead to his parents and all of that. He wanted to hire a make up artist to make him look older so he could have a bit more time with them. I gave him the elixir. Then he said now I could fall in love with him because we were equal. I about shit. That's what he wanted the elixir for because he thought I'd fall for him if he became Immortalis."

"That's sneaky and it bit him in the ass," Arena said. "Jordan had one do that to him."

"I know," I said. "He told me. I just can't believe that it happened to me."

"I can't either," Jason said. "The way you are with your bonded I thought they were all happy."

"They were," I said. "John just got an idea in his head and made a mistake. He said to rebond him. I said I can't. There's no way to go back."

"There sure isn't," Jason said. "If there were Jordan would have used it on two of his former bonded."

"Well it's done now," I said. "He's at his parents' house sulking because he made a huge mistake and can't fix it."

"Well you have to teach him to make the bonding potion," Arena said.

"I told him I would he said he didn't to know how to make it," I said. "He'll change his tune once it sets in that he's not one of the bonded anymore."

"Well that sucks," Arena said. "I'm sorry this happened to you. Are you going to bond another?"

"I don't know," I said. "I have three nights off in my schedule because of this let me experience the three nights and I'll let you know."

"Sounds like a solid plan," she said. "You now have four bonded, right?"

"Yeah," I said. "Eric, Declan, Evan, and Todd."

"We like Eric," Arena said. "He's a good guy."

"Yes he is," I said. "Declan, Evan, and Todd are good guys too. They don't want the elixir and they assure me they aren't in love with me or anyone else."

"That's good," Jason said. "My bonded aren't in love with me either. But then they're having sex with each other a lot more than they're having sex with me."

"Mine are too," I said. "They're always having sex. I'm the only guy in the house that takes days off."

"They're stupid," Arena said. "They'll wear themselves out on sex."

"That's what I told them," I said. "So what are we doing today?"

"Shopping for Jordan's birthday," she said. "We always get him something silly."

"Well then let's go look for silly things to buy for Jordan," I said with a smile.

We went into town to the big box store and looked at the items on the shelves. I chose a sweatshirt with a wolf on it. I knew his size it was the same as mine and Jason's. Jason got him one with a bear on it. Arena got him one with a moose on it. We paid for our items and left the store. Then we went to eat. We had tacos while we talked about what else we were buying for Jordan. Nicole was coming and there would be a grand party. I was looking forward to it. I told them that there were plenty of places to go and shop for items to give him for his birthday.

We took care of the trash and then headed to one of those places. It was a big store that sold a little of everything. I got him a body pillow. Jason got him a plastic cube. Arena got him a laundry bag. We paid for our purchases and headed back to the house. I left mine in the SUV. They took theirs inside and up to their rooms. I sat in the kitchen with Rolland and William. We talked about Nicole coming for Jordan's birthday. We were having a good conversation when Jason and Arena came in and sat down.

"She's coming and I'm to be on my best behavior," William told me about Nicole.

"Well I don't know what that means for you," I said. "I've always thought you were well behaved."

"She means she doesn't want to see me and Drake in the same room," he said.

"Well that's stupid," I said. "Wouldn't Drake like to help Jordan celebrate his birthday?"

"No," he said. "Drake hates Jordan."

"That's news to me," I said.

"He's always hated Jordan," he said. "He has this idea that Jordan is trying to come between us."

"Is he?" I asked.

"No," he said. "He just wants me to see it for what it is."

"And what is it?" I asked.

"A manipulation on Drake's part to hold over my head and make me do what he wants," William said.

"Well if you see it for what it is," I said.

"He's powerless to stop it," Roland said.

"Well you'll be at the celebration right?" I asked William.

"Of course I will," he said. "Jordan is my son and Drake is my bonded. It's time he understood that."

"Well that's the first time I've heard you take that stance with Drake," I said.

"I'm tired of him always getting his way all of the time," he said. "He's staying at the house and I'm going to the party."

"Okay then," I said.

"He's been giving Drake fits," Roland said. "He's been reminding him that he's a bonded man and should act like it. It's funny to watch."

"I'll bet," I said. "He's double bonded, right?"

"How did you know?" William asked.

"Jordan told me," I said. "I have a double bonded in my house too. But he's just a bonded man though maybe a bit more tightly bound to me than the others. That's Eric."

"We know Eric," William said. "He's a good guy."

"Yes he is," I said. "But he's double bonded like Drake and I don't have near the trouble with him that you seem to have with Drake."

"Well how do you put up with Eric if he's double bonded like Drake?" William asked.

"I never let him think for a moment that he was special to me," I said. "He is but none of them need to know that."

"No they don't," he said. "I've made mistakes with Drake. He's terrified that I'll give him the elixir. He won't accept a drink from me ever."

"Are you trying to give him the elixir?" I asked.

"Yes," he said.

"We'll help you," I said. "I'll have one of my bonded hand out drinks and give him the elixir in a cup."

"That would work," he said. "Nicole will be happy about that."

"Nicole will be happy if you get rid of Drake?" I said.

"If I give him the elixir and break the bond between us," he said.

"Is that why you're doing it?" I asked.

"No I have to get out from under Drake," he said. "I'm the Immortalis in this relationship. He needs to know that."

"Yes he does," Roland said.

"Well we'll get it done," I said. "We just have to be sneaky."

"That's the thing," William said, pointing at me.

I went back to the house and wrapped my presents for Jordan. I told the bonded that we were going to Jordan's birthday party later that night. I also told them that William wanted to give Drake the elixir but he wouldn't take it. I told them we were going to sneak the elixir on Drake and get him to drink it. William wants him to be Immortalis and he will be. My bonded said they'd help. They didn't particularly like Drake much.

We all cycled throught he showers and put on good clothes. I grabbed my gifts and we headed over in my SUV. We got there just as Nicole was arriving. She smiled when she saw me and then watched as my bonded got out of the car. Then she looked at me hard. She asked about John and I told her what had happened and she clucked her tongue. She said something about Drake and then she hugged me.

We went into the house and Jordan was in the living room. He smiled when he saw us. The bonded went to sit with Jason's bonded and Arena's. I handed him the gifts I'd brought for him. He put them with the others. There was food and drink so I got myself a plate and a glass. Jason was manning the drinks and smiled at me as I made my way over with my plate. He asked how I was doing now that John was Immortalis. I told him I was fine.

I wasn't sure if he was in on the plot to give Drake the elixir or not. I didn't say anything about it. I looked around and noticed that Drake wasn't there. I had to hand it to William for making him stay where he was. William was there and he was actually talking to Nicole. I didn't know what was going on there but I liked it. Jordan was smiling so he didn't find anything out of the ordinary. I noticed that Jason and Arena were watching our grandparents closely. Apparently they weren't comfortable with what was happening. I went to them. They didn't acknowledge me. I bumped Jason and he finally looked at me.

"Nicole and William are talking and nothing has been thrown," Jason said.

"He made Drake stay at the house," I said. "He did that for Nicole but he's grown tired of Drake."

"Yes," he said. "He's said the same to me. Maybe we'll finally be able to give Drake the elixir."

"There's a plan in place," I said.

"Good," he said. "We should give him the elixir. He needs to get away from William and be his own person. He's done all of the logistics for William he can do it for himself until he bonds someone."

"You think Drake will bond people?" I asked.

"He'll have to," Arena said. "He's never been alone in his life."

"Well you have me there," I said. "I'm going to teach John to brew the bonding potion so he can bond people if he ever chooses to."

"Why would you do that?" Jason asked, looking at me. "You said you didn't want the piggyback bond."

"John drank the elixir," I said. "He told me some line about not wanting to cut his parents out of his life. He said he'd hire make up artists to make him look older so he could still be in their lives. What he really wanted was to be my equal because he thought that once he was I would fall in love with him."

"Ouch," Arena said.

"I'm sorry, Brother," Jason said. "What did you say?"

"I told him the same thing I told all of you," I said. "I'm not in love with anyone and I don't ever plan to be in love with anyone. I told him I didn't love him in that way and I wouldn't. What got him thinking in this line was that I said I wouldn't fall in love with the bonded."

"Well now you know what he wanted all along," Jason said. "It's better to know. He's Immortalis and hopefully has learned a valuable lesson about the Immortalis. We don't fall in love if we can help it."

"Was that a backhanded comment about me?" Arena asked, glaring at her brother.

"No," he said. "You bonded a teacher because he looked like the one you were in love with who withered and died rather than be bonded to you."

"How dare you?" she asked. "You haven't felt what it's like to have them in your head all of the time, knowing how they feel. You've just started to bond people. You can't know what I went through. You can't know what I'm still going through. Yes I bonded Geo. I bonded him because he could have been Frank's older brother. You don't have the right to throw backhanded comments at me or say a damned word about who I bond."

She got up and walked out of the room. Everyone was looking at the two of us. We at least looked contrite. Jordan came to us and asked what that was about.

"I told them that John drank the elixir and Jason said something about Immortalis don't fall in love if they can help it. She said it was a backhanded comment about her bonding Geo. She said that yes, she bonded Geo because he could have been Frank's older brother. She said that Jason didn't begin to understand what it's like to have them in his head all of the time knowing how they feel. She told him it was none of his business who she bonded and he had no right to say anything about it." 

"Well she's right about one thing," Jordan said. "None of us have a right to say anything about who she bonded. That's her perview. I know that you and Jason didn't mean to upset her but she's a little upset about it because Roland and I talked to her about why she bonded Geo."

"That explains much," I said. "But Jordan I didn't say anything about why she bonded Geo. That's her business. Jason and Arena got into an argument about it. I just stayed silent."

"But I didn't say it was a bad thing," he said. "All I said was that she bonded him because he looked like Frank. That pissed her off."

"Yes," Jordan said. "As I said Roland and I had a discussion with her about Geo this morning. She's a bit upset about that and then you said what you said and pissed her off. We have to be careful with Arena or she might not live with us when we start college."

"I want her to live with us for college," I said. "I told you we've been supposed to bond but haven't."

"I hear you, Damon," he said. "I'll go talk to her. You boys have got to stop talking about Geo."

"Yes, Dad," we said together, making him smile.

He went off to talk to Arena and we sat there and looked at each other. We hadn't meant to upset her. We hadn't thought the conversation would upset her. Jason shrugged his shoulders and we went back to watching the room. Nicole looked at us and then came over. She hugged me again and then sat at the table in Arena's seat. She had a glass of punch with her.

"So what did you nasty boys do to run off your sister?" she asked.

"We talked about John drinking the elixir, and Jason said Immortalis don't fall in love if they can help it," I said. "She went off about that."

"Well there doesn't seem to be anything in those statements that she should take offense to," Nicole said. "I tell you that girl gets more and more touchy as she ages."

"We're sorry for upsetting her. Jordan went to talk to her and hopefully bring her back into the room," I said. "How's Milan?"

"Ducky," she said. "I still have to get you and your bonded over there. Just not this summer."

"What's wrong with this summer?" I asked.

"There's too much going on in Milan for you guys to enjoy yourselves," she said. "I'm purging my bonded and bonding new people there's just too much."

"Oh okay," I said. "That makes sense. You let me know and we'll come when we can."

"That sounds good, Damon," she said, smiling at me. I smiled back.

"I keep coming over here for all of these parties my work is going to suffer if this keeps up," she said.

"Well I'm glad you're here," I said.

"Thank you, Sweetheart," she said, smiling again. Jason was looking at me like he'd never seen me before.

"So you're purging?" I asked.

"Yeah, it's time for new," she said. "Don't worry I'll call you and update you for your database. That's a great thing you're doing for the Immortalis."

"Thanks," I said. "I just knew there was a need."

"Well you see things that the rest of us don't," she said. "That's for sure. What do you see about William and Drake?"

"He's trying to give him the elixir but Drake won't take it," I said. "We've come up with a plan to give it to him anyway."

"That's dramatic," she said. "And William is all right with this?"

"It's his idea," I said. "He wants to be free of Drake."

"I got that sense from our conversation," she said. "He's beside himself because Drake won't drink the elixir."

"Well there's a bonded dinner that is about to take place," I said. "One of my bonded will get him a drink and it will be laced with the elixir. That's the only way to do this that I can come up with."

"It's a good plan," she said. "As long as your bonded doesn't mix up the glasses."

"Well the glasses are going to be pink and purple," I said. "I will tell my bonded to make sure that Drake gets a purple glass."

"That sounds like a good idea," she said. "Maybe William and I can reconcile if he doesn't have Drake."

"He doesn't want bonded," I said. "He said he's done with bonded."

"Well he needs bonded to do things for him but if he thinks he's done with bonded maybe he'll come to Milan," she said. "I'll talk to him about this once he's free of the Drake."

Arena came back with Jordan. She apologized to me and Jason for acting like a bitch. We told her it was all right. Jordan opened his gifts and got a kick out of each of them. We had cake and ice cream and then we had punch. It was good punch and I had told them to make this punch for the bonded party that would take place tomorrow night. All of my bonded were looking forward to it.

We left the party around midnight and drove back to the house. My bonded were all talking about the bonded party. I had told Todd to be the one to give Drake the elixir because Drake trusted Todd. Todd was a little hesitant to do it but I told him that he was refusing to drink anything that William handed him and William wanted rid of him. Todd said he'd do it. I told him that the glasses of punch would be pink and purple. He was to make sure that Drake got a purple glass and it would be laced with the elixir.

This was one of my three nights off. I took a shower and went to bed alone. To their credit they all left me alone. I slept the sleep of the dead and got up the next morning refreshed. It was good not to have sex every night. I got up and got dressed. I went downstairs to a breakfast cooked by Eric. He smiled at me as he handed me a plate of bacon and eggs with hash browns and biscuits. He poured me a cup of coffe and sent me to the dining room where there was a pitcher of juice. I poured a glass of that and then ate my breakfast. When I was done I took my plate to the dish washer. I had another cup of coffee and sat in the living room to drink it.

All day long they talked about the party. They couldn't wait to go to the party. Todd was even excited. He told me in private that he really liked William and he wanted to help him. I told him that Nicole wanted William to go to Milan with her and he likely would when we left the city. He said that was a good place for him. Then he went off to talk to Evan about something. I was so happy that the others of my bonded didn't want the elixir. I didn't want to give it to them. I wanted to keep them. I might bond another but I hadn't decided if that was the right thing to do or not. I had four right now and that seemed a good number. But I needed a driver. None of them were that driver.

Then my father came to see me. He hugged me and asked me how things were going without John. I told him that it was very little differnce because his parents had been making him stay with them most of the day. He said he had the solution to my problem. I asked what he was talking about and then he went outside and came back with a seventeen year old boy. He had dark hair and eyes. He was physically fit and looked like he could handle himself. His name was Ian Fielding and he was both homeless and parentless. He came from two cities away and no one would miss him. I thought on this and decided there on the spot. I went up and got the bonding potion. I mixed three drops into a glass of water and took it to Ian. I told him to drink it down. He did as I asked and then he fell asleep on the couch.

I walked over to him and rubbed his crotch. His legs spread to give me access and then he yelped and orgasmed there in his pants. He opened his brilliant blue eyes and looked at me. He said, "I can feel you in my head."

"You're bonded to me now," I said. "Your days on the street are over."

"Why did you do this?" he asked.

"I'm going to show you a life that you've probably only dreamed of," I said. "Todd, take him up to your bathroom. Let him shower and dress him in some of your clothes. I'll tell Nicole his sizes when I get a chance."

"Sure thing," Todd said and took Ian upstairs.

"Thanks Dad," I said with a smile.

"I was going to give him to your brother but he's got five," he said. "You have four. He's been working the streets. Doing odd jobs here and there. I don't think he's turned any tricks but you'll get an honest answer from him on that. He's a good looking boy who was turned out by his parents for being gay. I know how you like those. You've got two in the house right now."

"You're right I do like those," I said. "Ian will be fine. How are you doing? I haven't seen you in a while."

"I'm great," he said. "I'm teaching at the college just like usual. I have five bonded men and they're learning to do things from Jordan's bonded and I'm told soon your bonded."

"Yeah, Jordan's ready to purge his bonded and start over," I said. "I don't know why."

"Well I'm never going to do that," he said.

"I don't plan to either," I said. "What I have is what I'll have."

"That's the ticket," he said. "Now when you graduate are you moving in with Jordan?"

"I can if you need me to," I said. "What's up?"

"Well me and my bonded are going to need a place to live soon," he said. "The house doesn't belong to my bonded. He was renting and I didn't know it until I asked him. We can eliminate rent by moving in here."

"Then yes, when I graduate I'll move me and my bonded in with Jordan," I said. "You and your bonded can have your house back."

"Thanks, Damon," he said with a smile. "I see you guys are taking good care of it."

"Of course we are," I said. "I don't want to live in a pig pen."

"You've got four bedrooms upstairs now, right?" he asked.

"And two bathrooms," I said.

"That's perfect," he said. "My bonded will fit right in here. I'm sorry to have to push you out though."

"Don't worry about it," I said. "I'll just move myself and my bonded to Jordan's. It's what he wants anyway. We may got to Milan for the summer. I don't know yet."

"Milan sounds exciting," he said. "Is that with Nicole?"

"Yes," I said. "She's asked that I come for a few months with my bonded of course."

"Of course," he said. "Well have fun as they say. I've got to get back to the bonded. I love you, Damon."

"I love you too, Dad," I said and got up to hug him.

He left and I called Jordan and told him all that had transpired when my father was in the house. He congratulated me on number five again and told me that of course I could move in he had a bunkhouse for my bonded and a room for me. I told him we'd move in soon. Then I got off the phone as Ian returned with Todd. He looked like a different kid with his clean hair and new clothes.

"Thanks for this," Ian said. "I don't know how to repay you."

"You don't repay me," I said. "There are some things we have to discuss. Todd get me a knife and a towel from the kitchen, please."

"Sure thing," he said and turned to trott off to the kitchen.

"What do you need a knife for?" Ian asked.

"For a demonstration," I said. "You won't believe me until you see it. I'm immorrtal. I'm what is called an Immortalis. It literally means 'one who has drunk the elixir of life and is immortal'. You are bonded to me which means you will live as long as I do provided that you stay around me. If you stray too far and don't have contact with me you'll wither and die. Its a horrible way to go."

"What a crock of shit," he said as Todd came back with the knife. I used it to cut the palm of my hand. He saw me do it and called out. Then I wiped the blood of my hand and he watched it heal. "Oh shit."

"That never gets old," Todd said. "Was Jordan here?"

"No I was on the phone with him," I said. "That reminds me, pack us up we're moving in with Jordan. My dad and his bonded need this place."

"Sure thing I'll get on it," he said. "We're still going to the party, right?"

"Of course," I said.

"All right, did you want us to take Ian?" he asked.

"He's a bonded isn't he?" I said smiling.

"Right," he said. "Come on Ian."

"He just cut his hand and it healed," Ian said. "Is all that stuff he said about himself and me true?"

"Oh yeah," Todd said. "You get used to it and it's awesome. There's a network of of us all over the world and we get together to do things now and then. They're like our extended family."

"Family," he said quietly.

"You just joined one dude," he said. "Damon will have to talk to you about school and such but we can do that tomorrow. We got a party to go to tonight and we have to pack up everything that's ours and Damon's we're moving to the mansion now."

"We're moving to a mansion?" Ian asked. "What's going on?"

"The man that brought you here is my adoptive father," I said. "This is his house. He and his bonded have been living in a rental house and need to move back in here. My real father has asked that I live with him. He has a mansion. There is also another there who looks exactly like me. Don't be alarmed that is my brother. My sister has bonded, too. You'll be fine there. You're going to learn to do some things that will make life worth living."
